Ganne ka Sirka vs Jamun Sirka
- Ganne ka sirka (sugarcane vinegar) is golden, mellow and slightly sweet-sour — the all-rounder for sirke wala pyaz, salads and marinades.
- Ganna sirka special adds ginger, black pepper and an herb blend for a warmer, spicier taste.
- Jamun sirka is deep purple, sharper and slightly astringent, with the unmistakable taste of jamun. Many families take a small diluted amount after meals.
All three are fermented naturally over weeks, not made from synthetic acetic acid.
How to Use Sirka at Home
Soak sliced onions in ganne ka sirka with a pinch of salt for 30 minutes to make sirke wala pyaz. Add a spoon to chaat, kachumber salad or green chutney. For a drink, mix one to two teaspoons in a glass of water — never drink sirka undiluted.
